Artificial intelligence is no longer a distant concept in healthcare—it’s already shaping how care is delivered, decisions are made, and systems operate. To help, GE HealthCare announced today that it is making more than 20 hours of healthcare AI training available at no cost through its HelloAI program.

Specifically, GE HealthCare is making its HelloAI Professional track available at no cost. This includes more than 20 hours of digital on-demand learning, plus access to webinars with healthcare experts. This release is in addition to the one-hour HelloAI Foundations course, which is also currently available to the public at no cost.

AI knowledge in healthcare is more important than ever. According to the American Medical Association, physician use of AI has more than doubled since 2023 to 81%, but training has lagged adoption.

Why AI fluency matters in healthcare

In healthcare, AI fluency isn’t about turning clinicians into data scientists. It’s about enabling professionals to confidently and responsibly apply AI in their daily work, understanding when and how to use it, how it is trained, where risks and bias may arise, and how to maintain appropriate human oversight. When thoughtfully designed and integrated, AI can enhance productivity, improve decision-making, and support better outcomes.

“Expanding access to HelloAI is about empowering more people across healthcare to participate in the AI journey,” said Jan Beger, Global Head of AI Advocacy for GE HealthCare. “When clinicians, researchers, and leaders can build AI knowledge at their own pace, it accelerates adoption and helps translate technology into real-world impact.”

About HelloAI

HelloAI is GE HealthCare’s healthcare AI fluency program, designed to support audiences at different stages of their AI journey. Originally launched in 2018 through the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, GE HealthCare now leads the initiative in collaboration with academic partners including the Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm (KTH), Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution.

The content is applicable to professionals in clinical, engineering, research, administrative, and leadership roles. Its online-first format allows participants to learn at their own pace.

The program currently offers two publicly available learning pathways:

  • HelloAI Foundations
A one-hour introductory course that is ideal for healthcare professionals, students, and researchers. It requires no technical background and covers AI fundamentals, key concepts such as machine learning and generative AI, and core ethical and safety considerations.
  • HelloAI Professional
Offering 20+ hours of learning, this pathway is designed for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of how AI is applied in real clinical and operational settings. The curriculum explores AI integration into healthcare delivery, case studies from across the industry, responsible adoption frameworks, and practical insights to support innovation, leadership, and decision-making. The program also includes recordings of previous live events, such as expert-led sessions and interactive journal clubs, which are optional but provide opportunities for discussion and community learning.

Building confidence for an AI-enabled future

HelloAI reflects GE HealthCare’s commitment to responsible innovation and to empowering the people who use AI every day.
